And Now… A Word From John…

May 28, 2011

Do you know how powerful Prayer is?  Have you ever sat down and thought of different events that have happened in your life that you prayed about or that others have prayed about for you? Have you ever asked God to use you? Have you ever told Him that you are His servant and you want to help build up His army? When you pray are you praying just in the morning and at night? Or are you praying to Him throughout the day? Do you wake up in the middle of the night tossing and turning? Are you thinking of what you have to do the next day and why you’re not sleeping good? When you wake is this your first thought or is God your first thought? Do you pray on your knees? Have you ever gone one day without thinking of yourself and focused completely on God? Do you feel frustrated and sometimes lost?

God has a plan for you! He wants the best for us all. But you have to be fully surrendered to Him. Your prayer has to be genuine. You can’t just pray to God; you have to fully trust Him too. Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” Listen to that! Open your Bible and read! He wants to be worshiped. He is a jealous God. He is asking us to seek Him with ALL of our hearts. Not 20% or when it’s convenient, not just in the morning or after the TV show is over. If you choose to do it your way then you will be asking why is this happening to me later.

God wants us! He wants to be there for us! He is knocking all the time. He wants to bless us and give us happiness. But He is not going to fight us. We have to fully submit to Him through the power of the Holy Spirit. I pray for everyone to fully submit, to get down on their knees and ask God into their heart for the glory of the kingdom. Do you want change in your life? Are you trying to find where you fit in? Are you trying to do this on your own? Or are you asking God to show you? He will answer your prayers. He will do this in His time. It may be the same day you ask or the next. It may be a year from then but He will answer. It may be a yes, or a no, or a wait, but it will be answered.

Ephesians 2:8-10 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are His handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us.”

We are to be used by God. But you have to have an honest heart and fully trust in Him through the power of the Holy Spirit. Are you willing to give yourself up and totally submit to your loving Father? If you do, it will change the way you understand things now. It doesn’t slowly grow on you. It will hit you when you least expect it. But it will be clear with a feeling that you can’t deny that is indescribable!

And now a thought from Mandi… Wow!  I need to listen to those sermons playing in your ears last night Honey.  That’s good stuff!  😉
